Closing Down

By francois On January 1, 2021 · Add Comment
Yup, I am decluttering my life. Turned 68, got a small retirement at last, and am stopping all activities that cost money, especially my commercial Flight Simulator related ones. So FSAddon Publishing is now GONE.That sounds easy. It isn’t.Over the past near 20 years I have linked so many forums, websites, news items and emails [...]

On April 13, 2016 By francois
Simon Smeiman has been hard at work at one of his own pet projects and is putting the finishing touches on his new series of WACO’s ! These lovely bi-planes were and still are very popular and convey a real yesteryear feel when flying them. After Simon delivers his corrections on the Beta versions, I’ll [...]

Bill Lancaster: Final Review

On April 8, 2016 By francois
Bill Lancaster: The final verdict By Ralph Barker When I was first asked to have a look at this book I thought… hmmmm, not really ‘my thing’. The story of an aircraft found in the African desert, decades after it had disappeared. Nothing to do with World War 2. And not [...]

Internet is back

On October 19, 2015 By francois
Dear readers !! After a long time wrestling with Internet connections, technology and service providers both in Italy and in Holland, I finally am back ‘on the net’…. albeit much less speedy than I used to be. Here in Italy 7 mbps is about the limit IF you can find a provider and a line-of-sight [...]

On June 16, 2014 By francois
The 70th commemoration of D-Day came and went and I was too busy to post anything here. But that doesn’t mean I wasn’t following events. Battle of Arnhem footage

On April 20, 2014 By francois
Keeping with the idea of  presenting classic aircraft AND events here, and focusing on WW2 mainly, here’s a clip I found on the wonderful Youtube channel of British Pathé (the old movie theater news reels from England) showing gliders (Waco’s and Horsa’s) and para’s coming down (probably near Veghel)   As to progress on my [...]

The LCA shows progress

On February 4, 2014 By francois
I have been wrestling with photo and paint programs these past few days, all the while holding a hanky under my dripping nose with one hand……. and I finally managed to get a nice ‘weathered’ look onto the sides of the LCA. Not there yet, but learning. It took me through PSP, Photoshop C6 and [...]

The Atlantic Wall

On January 14, 2014 By francois
In my research to more pictures of bunkers, I happened onto this German documentary on Youtube about the Atlantic Wall. It stretched from North Cape all the way south to Spain. Takes 53 minutes to view and even if you don’t understand it all, there are some very interesting images shown about the subject.
